"Spring 2012 Weekends"
Men's Weekend #14
April 26 - 29, 2012
Women's Weekend #14 May 3 - 6, 2012
Welcome
The Tres Dias weekend is an opportunity for Christians to encounter Jesus Christ, experience other Christians serving them in love, and receive new inspiration for living our life in Christ.
ABOUT US
TRES DIAS was derived from Cursillo de Christianidad - "a short course in Christianity" which has been an active tool of church renewal since its beginnings in Spain in 1949. TRES DIAS was started in America in 1972. Individual weekends are sponsored and coordinated by local chapters which have been chartered by the national organization. TRES DIAS is an ecumenical movement open to any Christians who are interested in deepening their Walk with the Lord.
A TRES DIAS weekend begins on a Thursday evening and ends the following Sunday evening. The team leading the TRES DIAS weekend consists of former attendees of a TRES DIAS or similar weekend, who have volunteered their time for weeks of preparation by working and praying together as a unit.
TRES DIAS is centered around lay and clergy talks. Each talk is discussed by table groups. Interchange that develops in these discussions makes Christ's teachings come alive. The basic atmostphere of TRES DIAS is one of love, joy, Christian fellowship, singing, laughing and worship. TRES DIAS makes future Christian experiences more fruitful because of the zestful seasoning it brings to all Christian living.
Just as Christ meets you at your point of need, so TRES DIAS is designed for those who desire to be strengthened in their faith and to be brought closer to Christ in their discipleship. All are welcome to attend the weekend. There are weekends for men and weekends for women. Each attendee must be sponsored by someone who has previously attended a TRES DIAS or similar weekend experience.
We Believe and Profess:
. . our faith in one Triune God - The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit.
. . that Jesus Christ is the only Savior and is God in the flesh.
. . that The Holy Spirit is God and is The Lord and Giver of life, who continues to work in believers today to sanctify, edify and empower the whole Christian church on earth - - - for His purpose.
. . that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired and completely true Word of God.
. . that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God; that forgiveness of sins is received through confession and repentance - - and that our sins are washed away through the blood of Jesus Christ.
. . that salvation is a gift of God's grace received through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
. . that the Body of Christ is to make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of The Son of God.
. . that God's unconditional love, as made manifest to us through Jesus Christ, is the primary witness by which people are renewed, edified and changed.
. . that God has called us to live holy lives that will bring glory to His name.

A candidate may not attend a weekend without a sponsor.
Therefore the role of the sponsor is extremely important to the candidates weekend.
Being a sponsor takes effort before, during and after the weekend.
It is not limited to just getting an application filled out.
Planning ahead will create better results than trying to get all "paperwork" in at the last minute.
Remember, Christ is counting on YOU.
And so is your Candidate.

The backbone and health of any Tres Dias community is participation in a reunion group. Reunion groups allow TD community members to explore and grow in Piety, Study, and Action. These groups allow members to share in each other’s joys and help carry each other’s burdens. Another benefit of being in a reunion group is to encourage each other. There are current reunion groups listed on our website: www.rmtdw.org. There is always a need for more groups. If your group is too large, birth a new one or two. If you feel led to start one…do so. If you will let us know at: RMtresdiaswest_gmail.com, we will put your groups’ time and location and contact information on the website. Here is information on the groups I know about.

1 Corinthians 15:58
"Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain."
Agreeing to work on a weekend is a
commitment to God!
The team that served you on your
Tres Dias ( or other similar ) weekends were dedicated to you. Now in the same way you must dedicate yourself to the candidates whom you will serve. Please DO NOT accept an invitation to work a weekend UNLESS you are able to RECOGNIZE this COMMITMENT and make it a PRIORITY in your life, as well as to the lives of the candidates that will be counting on you.

FAQ
Do I only need to fill out an application to serve one time?
The Rector(a) is not able to contact every team member about working on their team so we are asking anyone who desires to be considered for the team to send an application to the Rector(a) on each weekend you are desiring to work.
What is "Essentials Training" and do I need to attend one?
"Essentials Training" is required by Tres Dias International that every team member attend once. They also require the Community to offer the training once a year. The meeting is very informational about what is "required on the weekend" vs. "what is allowed and a Rector(a)'s choice" for the weekend.

Letter from Ethel # 2
Well, we have made it through the holiday seasons…Blessings and joy to you all…
Ethel has been working hard on getting her head positions filled. God has been faithful to show her where people could be used. She wanted me to let you know that if you haven’t heard from her don’t worry, she’s still waiting for replys on some of her heads positions. You WILL hear from her if you’ve turned in an application.
Ethel will be travelling Lord willing for the holidays, and will be having cataract surgery in Jan. Her daughter is dealing with radiation and will be having a full body scan to see what is going on with her battle with cancer soon. So please keep her family in your prayers during these very busy days.
Be sure to get your applications in to Ethel if you even think you might want to serve. Keep in mind that when you commit to be on the team your commitment is to God as well, to the team He is outing together to fulfill His purpose to the candidates coming in to this weekend to receive the same amazing weekend your had. We are a body, and He will need all the parts to function properly. YOU are needed, and wanted by the whole team. Please make every effort to attend all the team meetings as part of your commitment to serve. It is very important to grow together not only as a full team but in your small team as well. There will be important information covered at the meetings and to save the heads having to follow up with everyone it would be the best use of their time to be able to cover these things at that time. We should all have old name tags to bring along to team meetings, It would be so fun to see some of those ole ones again…
Job descriptions are on the web at RMTDW.org . If you haven’t visited that site yet you really need to. It’s awesome! Bernie and Jackie have done a wonderful job putting this together. Get familiar with it, team news letters will be posted there, announcements, updates, etc. The password for getting into the community tab is “palanca”. LOVE that word, it’s so fun.
Speaking of palanca, you might begin thinking about that too, whether you intend to serve or not you can participate in many ways, prayer, donations financially, palanca,(both men’s and women’s) sponsoring men for their weekend, prayer, prayer….
I was mistaken on the first letter about Ethel’s song for the weekend. You can see the video on Youtube type in Psalm 40 in the search bar by New Song . I’m so sorry. BUT, it’s an awesome song!!! Ethel's verse is Psalms 40: 2b-3a "He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. " Ryrie American Standard Study Bible
Her colors are red purple and gold. Red for the reminder of the blood that was shed for us. Purple and gold for His royalty. Her vision for the weekend has shofars and beautiful rocky places where God has established for us to stand.
If you have agreed to be a rollista, please start looking for a pretty rock, orange or grapefruit sized to bring to the weekend. We will be looking for a large glass bowl or vase to create a visual of a beautiful rocky place for our feet to be firmly planted. Cool huh? The glass bowl will represent God holding us! LOVE THIS!!
Also, on a less pleasant note, team fees are due at the latest 30 days before the weekend, if you are in need of scholarship monies, you can contact Ethel for an application for this. There’s no shame in asking for help if you really are in need, it allows the team to bless you as well as receiving a blessing for their faithfulness to serve in this way. Please don’t NOT serve because of money, if you feel like God is calling you to serve, turn in your application, see what He does. Our daddy owns the cattle on a thousand hills!!!! We truly serve an awesome God!!!
Blessings, Laura Ballard

If you want to be on the team, you have to send Ethel Brown (for women) or Craig Chambers (for men) in an application.
If you sign up for the weekend, make the commitment to attend all of the Team Formation Meetings!
Attending All of the Team Formation Meetings keeps you from spending the weekend
trying to figure out who is a candidate and who is a team member.
Your team fees ($160) are due 30 days before the weekend begins.
Please get them to the Head Cha or appointed Assistant Head Cha.
Before you sponsor a candidate, please read and understand the sponsoring guidlines.
